OUR CHOIR.

[The following was slipped into our letter box yesterday : — ] Except for a wagon I net d but repeab To cause you at opcj to admit, Our Choir, for my part, should retain its complete Obscurity proper to it : And ths fact that entirely alters ths thing Is the fact that »3 Tenor I frequently aing Our AUoi are rather a quav«ry set — Our Bata only nines from tha throat ; While ai for our Trebles, I doubt if you're mot Such wonderful shrillneis of note ; But the Tenor I'd have you to know makes amends (A. result which my excellent singing attends ) Ai each one considers his singing " first chop»■{Ot mine I am properly proud)-— And feels that the best should be brought to the top, Our songs are imprestirely loud ; Though judged by some sensitive musicaP chaps They mi^ht be considered discordant, perhnp*. But one little point I consider the pith Of thinga where we fail to agree — A oarious blinduess possessing tis (with The single exception of me) — Your presence when solos are brought on the scene Will lead you at once to obserrs what I mean. The Altos and Tenors and Bassos declire The Trebles for solos unfit ; While iltos and Bassos and Trebles will ne'er The claims of the Tenor admit ; And the Bass and the Trebles are one in beli f With myself that ths Altos must bring us to grief. But here is the blindness you'll scarcely believe — You may talk, they won't see it &t all ; Neither Bass, Trebles, Bassos, nor Altos perceive To the Tenor the solos should foil. And not ono of the Uhoir has the gumption to see That to sing with effeot they should take time from me ; While to make matters worse the more heartless declare That instoid of rnj own part I'm kinging the Mr !
