Sir, — A. short time ago, yon laid that you were enquiring about the resettlemeat of nativei near Ngaruawahia. I beg to inform yon that the land it a burial ground, and, that lots 21 to 42 and 44 to 63, eaoh inelnsive, 293 acres 3 roods and 34 perches, Horotiu, in which the burial ground is included, were given by Mr Maokay, when Crown Agent, in 1867, to Takers te Rau, from Takerei te Rao, being an ex-rebel, a Crown Giant will not be iwued. Lot 46, referred to in yonr letter as occupied by tbo Public round, upon the authority of 1h) Honourable Dr Pollen, is one of these lots, ani was probably a temporary and . c mditional permission.
