Late last night w.© received an account of the poUtic.il meeting lieklnt Ngarnawahia tlio same nigiit, which did not terminate till nearly ten o'clock. The attendance was the largest nnd most influential that had been seen in Ngaruawahia for some time, full fifty persons being present, nnd tlio meeting was well conducted Ihroug-h-out. liesoiutions were passed condemning the Defence Minister for treating with Tawhiao while murderers were harboured by lain, and for tbe intended restoration of confiscated land to natives within Europoan boundaries. The desirability of legislating bo as to reach absentees in the matter of rates was recommenced to the notice) of tiio member of the district, and the Waikito Tim Kg w.is chatted with beiug a subsidised organ of the Government.
