MONSTER PICNIC.

Sib, — Your suggestion for holding a monster picnic on Easter Monday, the 17 th of April, it a moat excellent cne, and J you oan only prevail upon the Clerk of the weather to take a Y.ndly interest in the matter, will doubtless be a most successful cne, for I feel guile' sure that from what I have heard mentioned oinco the suggestion appeared fci your paper that the matter will be taken up with spirit. Perhaps the best war to set the affair in motion, for some one must make a beginning, would be for the Superintendents of the several Sunday schools to arrange for ageneral picnic for the children to take place on thit day, and leave the elders to pin in as they may think fit. Gould not an entertainment be got up of the combined talent of all the amateurs to raise a sufficient sum for providing the cost of a thoroughly good treat for the children including the hiring of conveyances to carry them to the ground and home again. Other small communities do this sort of thing once a joar — why should not we ? we migtt raise a ten pound note •easily "by such an entertainment, and if more were needed let us tend the hat round. Then as to a placo suitable to hold such picnic upon ara there not plenty eucb. in the vicinity of Hamilton winch (heir owners would doubtless place at the dispoial of a committee.
