THE PRICE OF TALLOW.
Sis,— The Now Zealand Loan 'Jompany oircular for January 13th, quotes mulon ta'low in London market, 51s 6d per cv/t, and Mrßuckland's report of Saturday's issue, quoted mutton in the Auckland' market at 2|d to 2Jd. Comment is needless ; but I cannot help saying after A B, is thii to bo the value of fat wethers weighing 100 lbs, if no advance to bo sold at 14 shillings. The above is the price iof such sheep at the last Ohaupo fair. Sorejy Sir, this is not turning the rich patturesof the Wai'iato to the best'aivantage. The present price of wool and the enormous increase in quantity within the last four years would justify the establishment of boding down works in the Waikato. Half of our preterit flocks cmld be toiled down wjth advantage and profit, aa there are plenty of flock i outside the Waikato to replaoo them. — I am, (fee, MvMQ.
