Haymaking still continue!, seTeral mowing maohmes b«iug itill busy. Tko second crop of hay is of course infinitely better than the first, and there is & probability that bay 'mll-'be a glut in the market, however, if it cannot h'nd a sale it may very profitably be given to the cattle, for as the Farmers Club has (hewn us we cannot rely upon grass alone for winter feed. The Messrs Lamb are k>U3y with their steam threihiag machine, and it is likely that they will be in full employment for lome time, though of. course the amount of crop' to be threshed falls considerably short of last year, and many previous ones. Several of the volutcers attended- at the butts on Saturday for competition for district prizes ; the shooting however was indifferent, the scores not being up to the average. lam not in po3sossion of the scores at present, but will en deavour to forward them in tima for your next The funeral of the late Mr Robinson took place on Thursday last, and was largly attended. The ierviee was impressively read by the -Eev Fathar 'Golden. Everything in the City remains in the same state of dulnecs as whon I last ivrote, even " Black Twiff " has- become silent, «nd is too lazy to say anything. In the 3rd column -of the report of the Farmers Club, Mr Martyn is made to say he was " successful" in growing mangolds, it should read " unsuccessful." And Mr Hunt is made to ask about insects destroying the " roots^of grass"' instead of " mangolds." In Mr Clark'r reply -he, says (in the report) That ho grew some mangolds ," one portion on a pieco of land>half gravel and half loam." It should be "on a piece of land half gravel and half loam." — Own Correspondent.
