Sib,— l hear that after the police constable had allowed J. Scott to escape, he J. Scoti % was hiding for some timo in a storf keeper's house or place of business all the time the police were looking for him on boardf*' the steamer. The storekeeper now holds a bill of sale over his property, and the same is all to be sold oft*. Now I want to know if snch an act does not bring a person under the law, by helping to thwart justice.
