Messrs Hunter and Nolan repovt a follows : — Horfies: There has been nothing noteworthy in the market. About the usual number were entered for sale bv,auction on Friday last, and were, almost fout tSception, disposed of. Hacks sold at from oLIS; light harness horses, from Ll2 15s to ; light draughts, from L?G 10s. Cattle : -.Activity has characterised the market, and, with jfthe exception of dairy cows, which were limited in i number, and generally of inferior description, there has/been a good supply. At Newmarket, on Tues(lm, there was a large muster of store stock, which nret with good competition, and last week's quota* tions were sustained. Although above the average -rromber of fat beasts were yarded, the bidding throughout was spirited, ai»4, for top sorts was remarkably keen. Dairy covl sold from L 6 to Lll ; two-year-old steers, L 4 to L 4 lfis ; three-year-old steers, from L 5 7s 6d to L 6 17s 6d; yearling steers, from LI 18s to L 2 lfis ; beef, 35s to 37s 6d per 100 i lbs. Sheep . The sheep-pens were well filled, the bidding was brisk, and a marked advance on last week's quotati «as was obtained ; "2s 8d per 8 lbs for shorn sheep, and 3a per 8 ibs for those in wool having been freely given. Best wethers in wool sold from •'Is to 258 3d ; shorn wethers from 16s to 22s each. There were a good many lambs, which sold freely at from 8s 6d to 19s each.
