Wi direct the attention of our readers to the advertisement announcing that a conoart and entertainment in aid of the funds of the Catholic Ohorob, Hamilton East, will take pbce on Wednesday evening next, the 20th instant. Urom an inspection of the programme we can confidently promise a rich and varied store of instruction and amusement. Several leading Tooaland imtrumental amateurs hate kindly given iheir tervioes for the occasion, and the Hamilton Ethiopian Min»trel» will produce an entirely new budget of songs, choruses, conundrums, and local hit*. One of the special attractions of the erening will be a Spelling Bee, three Tory handsome prizes being offered to competitors. We understand that in order So enoourage ladies aad gentlemen to enter the lista, the test words will consist entirely of words in ordinary use, technical, scientific, and rare terms being omitted. • The Bey • Father Golden has been most indefatigable in hia exertions to make the affair a success, and he has received cordial and hearty promises of assistance from all sections of the community.
