OnTOBKB 2"D 1875. It was forgotten to be mentioned in the last iMUe, the objects for which the Amateur Concert »as given. It was in aid of the Funds of the Odd Fellows Lodge in this place, (some of whose members ably assisted in th performance) and also in aid of the Library, the proceeds being equally divided. The successful result of the undertaking is much owing to the energy of the Rev. — Scott, seconded by an active committee. Messrs Whitson & Bons, are mating great improvements in the Ngaruawahai Brew cry ; in fact, re arranging the whole plant in anticipation of a good cummer's work. They consider when their altrrati -us are complete, the Brewery will be second onjy to their Au kland establishment. Mr A Nicol is now busily enga^d in preparations for raising the •**• Waipa. It is to he hoped he will be as successful with the work as he was with thr Rangiriri. The S 8 Alert has b^en completely overhauled, and made as comfortable as possible for a small steamer to be.
