LATEST PARLIAMENTARY.
Wellinctox, Friday. The Abolition Bill pissed through committee last night, and the third reading is ordered for Tuesday. The chief fight occurred on the new clauses providing that Provincial Councils shall not meet meanwhile. Macandrew, Sir George Grey, Brandon, Carrington, and Fitzherbert protested strongly against it, but the Gorvernment carried the clauses on a division by thirty-four against sixteen. During the discussion in reply to question, the Colonial Treasurer said the Government intended to g*o on with the Local Gjvernnaent Bill, but so much time had been spent over the Abolition Bill they might not be able to pass through the other measures. To-day is private members' day, and the general business on the paper is being prooeeded with.
