Auckland, Friday evening. A girl, four years old, a daughter of Mr Hosjan, mi.knian, was playing with a horse, beating it, when the animal suddenly kicked out, striking the child on the forehead, aad fracturiug her skull. Hopes of her recovery are entertained. At the Police Court, Walter Pell was accused of stealing a horse, saddle, and bridle, from Cambridge, and remanded to that place, fco be sent up by to-morrovr'a train. Kate McM.inus was sent to gaol for a year, as an incorrigible rogue. Louis Phi was reminded to C.iristchurcb, on a charge of stealing a watch. Joseph White wns sentenced to one month, for stealing 3% from Murray, of Chapelstreet. At Mi* Arthur.-* produce sile today, butter re.ili.sei 6^l to lid; Cinter-bu-y bacon, 10} 1 ; Auckland, B\l to 9d ; potatoes, 4s to 7s; onions, l^l; maize, is 6 1. Hunt's house, Keaauera, tlras auctioned for £1,557.
Grahamstown. The first cleaning* up of tbe Caledonian gave 350 ozs. McKee, who was injured in the Manukau mine, died.
