VERY LATEST PARLIAMENTARY.
Mr White occupied the / lole of the remainder of Thursday evening's sitting after Mr Stafford. He ox pressed his determination to oppose the Government measures at every stage. The Plui^a adjourned at midnight. In the House this afternoon, Mr Wales asked whether without notice, if Abolition Bills passing would empower the Government to divert the Provincial resources from present objects. The Government answered iv the negati ve. Government Building, 8 p. ra. The excitenxerit i» intense, Mr Merryn opened the debate on Abolition, and is still speaking. Mr Fitzherbert will speak during to-night and possibly debate will close, although more probably will be forced over into next week. Opposition will not divide the House, notwithstanding they shew weakness of their numbers. They rely on obstruction in Committee, and may succeed in compelling the Government to abandon the hope of passing measures through this session, although with such a large majority the Government will not be easily thwarted.
