The neighbouring townships of To Awamutu.aud Ran^iawiihia, w,th the settlement of Orakau, are visible from the hill rise, aud form as pretty a pinoramic new as can be nut with in the Waikato. ICiil and cUle, mountain and valley are embraced in the picture, and on every side flourshing farms and s niii-ig home s cads meet the eye. Kihikiln boasts two hotels, the "Alpln," kept by W. Co. boy, and ihe " Kihikihi," by T. Anderson, a general store a'», by W. Corboy, two other stores, aschool-houseo telegraph and post ollice, and a small < l atholic chapel. A detachment of the Armed Constabulary under Sub-Inapector Smith, is aLo stationed here.
