The following is the result of the polling for the seat in General Assembly for pity West : — Dignan, 5G5 ; Dargaville, 386 ; being a majority of 179 for Dignan. The Civil Sitting of the Supreme Court is postponed until Monday next. A shark 14 feet long was taught in the harbour to-day. Tauranga, Wednesday. A severe shock of earthquake was felt to-day. Tairua, Wednesday.
Thera is a rush reported. The prospectors intend to test a ton of stuff, and have applied for a waterright. They also intend to take up a crushing machine.
