The Echo advocates the lodger franchise. A despatch from the Agent General says the crew and passengers of the " Cospatrick," were seized with a "panic. There were 200 tons of spirits on board. The captain signed a certificate that there were" no acids or combustibles on board. The nomination far the Supdrintendency took place to-day. The Returning Officer read the writ, after which Mr O'Rorke proposed Sir George Grey as a fitting person to be superintendent.
