SHEEP. Judges Messrs McNicol, Walker, and Anderson.

There were not nearly so many entries as the quantity of sheep in the district led us to expect. The quality, however, was undeniable, and most of the prize winners would have been very difficult to beat.

Ram — There were 3ix competitors for the prizes offered for the best two long-woolled rams. The only difficulty the judges can have had was in awarding the first and econd prizes. There was no doubt as to the superiority of the sheep shown by Mr Kay and Captain Bocliett over other competitors, but the two in our judgment were very nearly eqaul. The judges, however, gave the first prize to Mr Ivay.

Ram Hoggets — There were seven entries in this class. Mr Eeynolds took the first prize and MrKay the second.

Pen of Three Ram Lambs— The prize was awarded to the only entry, it was taken by Messrs Goodfellow with a very good pen.

Pen of Three Ewes — There were four pens shown, the judges however could have experienced little difficulty in awarding the iirst prize to MiReynolds and the second to Messrs Goodfellow.

Pen of Three Ewe Hoggets. — First prize Mr Storey, second Messrs Goodfellow.

Pen of Three Ewe Lambs. — Messrs Goodfellow took both first and second prizes.

Fat Sheep. — Mr Short took first and Mr Taylor second prize. The extra prize for Leicesters was taken by Mr Parker.
