One file has cio^ed the Beiuligo Cteek near the Bullocky-bndge, and was fast approaching the faims of Mr. Stanley and Mr. Tootell. The whole of the mineis from the Bendigo and Ballavat and Annabella
claims, started for the scene of the fire. A great deal of fencing is ahoady consumed at Huntly. Mr. Leane, a contt actor for the Huntley Shiie Council, has been burnt oyt. Several farmers have lost everything. The standing fencing in all dnections has been destroyed, and all endeavour to stop the flames or to 'save anything have been unsuccessful. Mount Macedon was on Wednesday night covered with fire from base to summit. The fire has been raging for two clays, and was at it-, height on Wednesday evening when the 1 1.9 passenger train passed. The appearance of the mountain on fire is described by the passengeis as being giand in the extreme. The wind was driving the terrible element at a great late towaids Woodend, which place appeared to be doomed to dcstiuction. The whole of the timber on the noithern side is completely destroyed, nothing but a few blackened and sinouldeimg stumps remaining of what a few days ago was a magnificent forest.
