(To the Editor of the Waikato Times ) Sib, — I beg to call your attention to the state of tbe English Church in this place — the windows broken, shingles (ailing off rotten, the doors impossible to close and left open in nil kinds of weather, through which the harmonium is getting spoilt, and the whole building hurrying on to a stato of cli'npidation. If there are no funds surely the committee can device some means of raising it ; if they cannot, let them go round with the hat as usual. — I am, &c ,G. Ngnruawahia, Dec, 4, 1874.
During tho personal canvass of a certain Parliamentary candidate among the electors, lie and hia friends, calling at a hucksters shop, found only a boy, who, hiving learnt their business, went to the foot ol tbo stturs and called, " Mother, here's a man as wants yo'r Tote for bun t'ho a Parliament man." " Well," shouted the mother, " tell him thy father's not in, but if he'll chalk his nain,e on th' counter we'll inquire into bis character'"
