CORRESPONDENCE. [We do not necessarily endorse the opinions expressed by Correspondents.]

(To the Editor of the "Waikato Tim;es.) Sib,— l am given to understand that Mr Sheil, the manager of the branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, at Hamilton, is shortly to be removed from the district which to say the least of it, is a most injudicious step on the part of the directors. As he has by his courteous manneis and business-like conduct been the means of extending the business of the bank, much more than could (we venture to say) be done by any besides himself; pirticularly when wo take into consideration the fact that the settlers in Waikato are not so bound up in institutions as in men. I predict a great falling off in the business of the bank, unless his sucec«or comes up to the required standard, 'and 1)0 I feel confident has a difficult role to play ; and we would strongly recommend the directors to keep the gentle, man they have at prssent here in his position, provided they \vish to velain the business they have, for there an? numbers who have been doing business at the Bank who might not continue to do so, but for the esteem in which Ihey hosd Mr Shell, who if removed will carry with him the best wishes of all who have had the pleasure of coining in contact with him. — I am, &c. ___________ AuiilCOLA.
