CORRESPONDENCE. [We do not necessarily endorse the opinions expressed by our correspondents.]

(To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sib, — I see by your Hamilton telegrams that Hollowaj the great and gifted, has arrired ; and that bin Honor in ( troduced him a» the representative of 100,000 people whi wished to better their conditions. This failing, I believe is quite common, even in the colonies, — in fact the gentle man who has undertaken to show Mr Holloway round thi Waikato may be considered as the representative of 200, 0(M in this colony who wish to better their position, and om from whom the great and gifted may learn a wrinkle oi that subject, If ever I come across man, woman or chile who does not wish to better his or her condition, I wil let you know ; at any rate, I will not let them go until get a rale <^ood look at them. — I am, &c, SciiUTAK.

(To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sib, — It is becoming quite common for Highway Bo^Jj to advertise tbat such or such a bridge is unsafe. This ! consider an extravagance, as the greatest fool who ha travelled from Ohaupo to Ngaruawahia could see tha without it being advertised. What we want the Boardi to do is to repair the bridges, and not leave them for month ami years in rottenness and danger. If there is no funds let the Board who has the control of thete bridges resign and any person nominated by the Superintendent refusi to act, and thus throw the responsibility on ihe Provincia GoTcrnment. For without extra rating powers, or hell of some kind, one p^nny late will not keep the bridges n repair along the mam line of road. — I am, &c. , Hamilton.

(To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sib,— Having heard that my name had been mentioned in a letter to your paper of Saturday, the 24th inst., by i person signing himself "Traveller," I hasten to explain thi circumstances. In the first place, lam not in charge of th punt, nor was I at the time mentioned, the punt being lav up for repairs. Secondly, the canoe lying there belonge to a party of Hauhau's jU3t arrived, and it was them wh< charged a shilling for the use of the canoe. Thirdly, I b.'| to say that I paid the shilling that they might crow. Tra vellor's statement, that they paid it, is a deliberate falsehood falsehood" If " Travi ller " comes here again, he had betto bring some money with kirn, as I can not afford to pay awa, shillings that he may cross. If he bad signed his owi name I should not have thought it worth while to answe his letter, as he u well known ; but as he wrote under a fie titioua title, I thought it best to answer it in case that tea travellers shonld be misled. — I am, &c, Hamioba Ngabofi.
