The firo brigade demonstration took placo last night, tho brigade formed a torchlight procession, they were accompanied by volunteers and band, thoy paraded tho town and afterwai-ds dined at the Marine Hotel. The Superintendent occupied the chair, and the Mayor the vice. The Governor and Captain Simpson of the Blanch o were guests. Tho Governor in reply to his health made sarcastic remarks in reference to tho frequency of fires in A <ieW -rid and the want of appliances for extinL i .. I>r them.
