At a meeting of Cricketers held lacfc night to consider the proposed visit of the Victorian eleven, there was an influential attendance, the project was warmly Fappi-oved and a committee appointed to obtain particulars of probable expenses, what subscriptions could be obtained, and to confer with Dun eel in cricketers on, the matter. A meeting ,was held last night to consider tho question whether a vessel should be chartered to convey passengers to the Palmer goldfields, Queensland, there was a very large attendance. Guarantees for 50 passengers were given should a vessel be obtained on reasonable terms. A committee was appointed to mako complete enquiries *into the matter.
