It in reported that an attempt is to bo made to unseat Mr Yon dcv Hyde on the grounds that his naturalisation which took pltice in South Australia was not renewed in New Zealand. A deputation introduced by Mr Cauhmiu waited upon the I'vovinciiil Government relative to the Southern Cross steamer calling at Whitanga and Mercuiy Bay ; it was fonnd that these places were not included in the contract. The Government admitted the hardship, und promised to endeavour to effect reform.
