xnere is a new rasn to the tfreenstone, between Hokitika and the Grey, it is turning out most satisfactorily. Prospects are improving daily ; already sixteen parties have Btiuck payable gold. Other holes are being driven. The back country is being taken up, and extensive goldfields are expected to be opened. Miners are flocking from all parts of the coa&t.
