The Coloniid Bank of New Zealand Bill has been read a second time. Considerable discussion ensued upon tie remark of the Premier that it would be a boon to the Colony if a Surveyor-General were appointed. Several members thought that it would be the first step towuida the General Government assuming control over the Waste Lands of the Colony.
