Tbe Criminal Sittings of the Si\pconae Court wore opened to-day. The Judge's charge was brief. He said that the number of prisoners was not more than a quarter of what had beer: brought before him in other sessions. Mary Young, charged with stealing 17s 6d from Higgina, a publican, was found not guilty, aud discharged. William 11. Campbell has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for stealing wearing apparel. L. A. Smith, charged with attempt at suicide, was discharged. Was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity.
