ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING, HAMILTON .
The annual meeting of the n><?inbor« of the Church of England was held at the Mechanics Institute on Fndav, January 1G — Ber. F. 0. Lloyd in the* chair. There were present, Afessra Atl;tn3un, Unle, Clarke, Graham, H-uro-mond, Leslie, Bearancke, Seddoii, Smith, Vialou, and Walnut. Tho meeting was opened with prayer. Mi Soddon road the balance sheet for tho past ye ir which showed tho total jeeeipts to be £157 7« 9d ; expenditure, XI2G lls 9d ; balance, £30 16a. The balance sheet being adopted, the following resoltttions wens passed : — 1. "That the sum of Twenty Pounds bo paid to the St.mdmg Committee* iv pursuance ot the agreement with th.it Ci mmrtteo to pay annually £20 for fi-ve ye&ra in liquidation of tho debt of £1()U due on account of the I parsonage." 1 2 " That the church building bo insured for the sum i of £200." I 3 "That Messrs Le Qucsne and Vialou be appointed I auditor* for the ensuing year." 4 ''That every other form iv the Church be let at | tho unifoiui pr;ce of live shillings a sitting to subscribers; , - the choice of sittings to be decided by ballot- and that notice be given in \vntuig within fouiteeu days tv the Churchwardens by those persons desirous of taking seats I in the church." . 5. "That tho Church wardens be instructed to communicate with those of Ngaruawahia. and Cambridge, requesting them to joiit in defraying the travelling expenses of clerical and lay representatives to the Diocesan Synod ; Hamilton agreeing to pay £4 towards the sum required. " A Church Committee was then appointed : — (1.) Colonel Lyon, nominated by Rev F. C. Lloyd ; (2.) Mr Seddon, proposed by Mr Leslie, seconded by Mr Graham ; (S-) Mr Cox, proposed by Mr Hammond, seconded by Mr Vialou. Votes of thanks having been passed to Miss Hunt and tho ladies who had undertaken the management of the church music, to the Church Oifieoia of the past year, and to tho chairman, Ihe meeting «as bi uughb to a close.
