London, October 23. The rate of discount has risen from 6 to 7 per cent. On the occasion of the entertainment given at the Mansionhouse, yesterday, by the Lord Mayor of London, three hundred guests were in attendance. Profound dissentions have arisen among the Cnrlist leaders, and the military power of their forces it considerably weakened. Mr James Harrisons attempt to convey frozen meat to England has completely failed, in consequence of the defective construction of the tanks prepared for its reception. Failure was anticipated shortly after the Norfolk left Melbourne. Subsequently it was found, on examination, tfiat the meat was spoilt, and the whole of the experimental shipment—consisting of twenty tons of beef and mutton— was thrown overboard at the Capo.

T-he Governments and exhibitors of all the Australian colonies, including New Zealand, but exclusive of IJew South Wales, divide between them 139 medals, from the Vienna Exhibition, of progress and merit, besides numerous diplomas of wines, wool, preserved meats, fibres, minerals, and fruits. The relate proportion to the different colonies are — W«w Zealand, 48; Victoria, 4,7; Queensland, 31 ; South Australia not reported. At the Oxford August ram fair, about 800 rams were penned.
