CHURCH MEETING.
A Mrktixq ofthc members and supporters of the Church of England was held at the Church, Ngamuwahia, on Saturday evening, 2JJnd instant, the Rev. F. C. Lloyd, pastor of the church, in the chair-. After prayer had been offered the minute? of the prcwous meeting u ere read and confirmed. The Cuairmax said that the first que.tion before the meeting wa^ this : as to whether it would bo de»irab'e to form Hamilton and Xgaruaiwahia into a parochial dM ict. Mr ltiYM-B proposed, " That Ngaruauahia bo formed into 6 parochial district in conjunction with Hamilton." Seconded h) Mr Joxfs, and carried. The Chaibmvv said that the next question to bo decided was the necessity of procuring a parjonnge for their pastor. 1 hoy hud been offered a building which would be suitable, at a eo->t of £230. £120 had been promised hy subscription, and £100 could be procured from the Diocesan Synod at 7 per cent, interest. Mr Edgkcumue proposod, "-That the Churchwardens form themselves into a commit teo for the purpose of collecting subscriptions towards defraying the cost of purchasing a parsonage for their minister in Hamilton." Seconded bj Mr Home. Mr Rvyver morod as an amendment, " That the interest oil £100, at the rate of 7 per cent., be guaranteed 1 by Xgaruawahia for three years, to be paid anmulTy, and on £50 for the two following years, for the purpose of assisting in the purchase of a parsonage at Hamilton.
