WAIKATO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

i meeting of those interested in the formation of a Rife Association in the Waikato District, was held at the Qhaupo Hotel on Wednesday, the 4th inst, at '11 a.m. (Captain McPherson in the chair). when the following resolution was proposed by Mr. Kennedy Hill/ seconded by Mr; McDonald, and carried unanimously :— ... "That it is desirable to form an association in the Waikato District with the object of promoting rifle shooting, and of fostering and encouraging.the .volunteer movement, to be called ' The "Waikato Rifle Association.'" . ■ Mr. Robert Kirkwood moved and Mr. R033 seconded: . . . *- f That with a view of carrying out the foregoing resolution, a central committee be now nominated, consisting of a president, two vice-presidents/ and lion, secretary and treasurer and six members —three to form a quorum. And that for each of the five settlements in the district, there be nominated subI committees, consisting of a chairman and four J members—three to form a quorum."—Carried.

The Central Committee shall have power to make bve-laws, but no bye-law shall he- made, altered, or rescinded without notice having been given at a previous meeting ofeonnniU.ee. 7. All matches fired by members of the association shall be carried out in strict accordance with the rules laid down by the 2s'ew Zealand , Government for Ihe colonial and other prizc-<irin«][ matches. 8. That the control and management of matches in the diilerent*. settlements be in the hands of the Sub-committees, and that no Government- ammunition be expended in practice without the presence of one member of the Sub-committee, who is hereby required to send to the lion, secretary a eertilieale that lie was present, and that ( ) rounds of ammunition Avcre expended by members named therein. 9. The chairmen of the tSuh-Counnittecet»hall be held responsible for the safe custody and issue of ammunition to members. 10. The financial year of the association shall commence on the Ist October in each year; and subscriptions of all kinds must be paid in advance. They will be collected by Sub-committees and transmitted to the hon. secretary and treasurer, who is hereby required to grant a receipt and duly account for the expenditure of the same. 11. The accounts will be mmde up annunlly to 30ih September, axulited. and printed, and each member of the association will be furnished with a copy before the 31st day of October. 12. Members shall meet at their own ranges for practice as often as Sub-committees may del ermine, when any one guilty of interrupting, or obstructing the practice by talking or other irregular conduct, will be subject to a penalty not exceeding JJ/G for each offence-. . 13. The Snb-committees shall have power t oexpuuge the name of a member from the roll* of the association for repeated misconduct. 14. All monies rcqeived as subscriptions, donations or fines, &c., to be appropriated as prizes, after all other legitimate expenses have been paid.
