BOROUGH BRIEFS.
. The Rev H. Blathwayt of Takapau, is to conduct the evensong and sermon in St. Mary’s Church on Sunday evening. . Mr J. K. Lee, engineer to the Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board has been in touch with Mr Robinson, resident engineer at.Mangahao, and learns that the shortage of water there is assuming a , most serious aspect. Unless rain comes during the next few days a big restriction will have ,to be placed on the use of electricity between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. The entrance to the Waipukurau Club presents a pleasing appearance at the present time, owing to the improvements effected last spring in the -shape of a rock garden and rustic stone fence. The various creeping shrubs~and flowers have recently come into full bloom and arc a decided acquisition to the' appearance of the building. The rock for the fence was procured from Napier and - the work was designed and carried out under the direction of ■Mr Henderson, the local florist and landscape gardener, who deserves credit, for- the excellent planning and choice of plants.
