THE GASWORKS.

Mr Kinvig, one of the directors of Hie 20th Century Gas Company, and Mr Gardiner, who is in charge of the work here, came up from Wellington yesterday. We understand it is the company’s intention to restore the works without delay, but that an oil-engine will be used instead of the hot-air engines, which, it is now considered, are not so suitable for large plants. Mr Kinvig returned to Wellington by to-day’s express.
