PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
The Patangata County Council met in the County Offices to-day. Present :-—Messrs White (chairman), G. Hunter, McHardy, F. G. Speedy, C. B. Williams, McNutt, Potts, and H. B. White. The Chairman and Councillor Potts were elected representatives of the Council on the Hospital Board. The Secretary was instructed to ask Roadman Kelly to send in his resignation, his service to end a month from date. It was decided to charge Messrs Broad and Griffiths a ..consolidated rate of £lO for six months, for carting metal over the roads in the Eparaima Bridge district. Mr Williams was granted permission to take 100 yards of broken metal from the Stoney Creek quarry at half cost price, viz, 3s per yard, in consequence of damage done to his land by recent metal carting. The overseer recommended the patching of the Wanstead-Por-angahau road at the rate of 600 yards to the mile, between Eparaima bridge and Kokomoko Hill, 4000 yards in all. The sum of £1427 was voted for Eparaima Riding. It was decided to erect linger posts throughout the Patangata riding. The following votes for roads were passed : Eparaima Riding, 1427 yards raetall; Patangata, 257 yards ; Porangahau, 760 yards ; Tamumu, 290 yards. Accounts amounting to £428 2s 6d were passed for payment. The following rates were passed : —Eparaima in £, Patangata ■gd, Porangahau jd, Tamumu Id ; payable Sept. Ist. The Chairman’s travelling expenses for last year, amounting to £2O, were passed for payment.
