(from our own correspondent.) A meeting of the School Committee was held on Thursdy night; present — Messrs Williamson (chairman), Culling, Schroder, Rice, McKay, and Kirk. Correspondence from the Education Office was read regarding an application for a subsidy in erecting a fence round the teacher’s residence. The matter was held over for Mr Smith (inspector) to report. Accounts amounting to £ll were passed for payment. The committee fixed September 11th as the date for their annual concert and dance in aid of the children’s prize fund.
