HOCKEY.
o HAWKE’S BAY v. NELSON. This match was played at Napier on Thursday, on a very muddy ground, and resulted in a win for the former by 1 goal to nil. Hawke’s Bay opened by attacking and within a few minutes of the commencement Shattky had scored. Nelson was prominent shortly after, but failed to get in. In the second half Nelson was kept defending till towards the end of the game, but bad judgment lost two easy goals for Hawke’s Bay. Messrs A. Dee (Nelson) and G. R. King (Hawke’s Bay), were the referees.
