BOWLING CLUB DANCE
o The very bad weather which set in on Tuesday night had a prejudicial effect upon the Bowling Club’s dance and somewhat spoiled the attendance at the Town Hall. This was the more to be deplored from the fact that the dance was practically the inception ceremony of the Bowling Club. The members of the Club, led by the honorary secretary, Air J. L. Harvey, had done everything to make the affair a success, and those who braved the elements had a most enjoyable time. Mr Cain made an efficient ALC. and the dances were got off smartly. The music, which was of a good variety, was rendered by Aliss Hannon, of Waipawa. Refreshments were provided by the committee, the committee-men’s wives kindly lending their assistance in the preparation of supper. An excellent repast was provided, temptingly arrayed, and ornamented with flowers. Coffee, cocoa, tea and light drinks were provided. Extra dances were played during the evening by Aliss Alitten and Air J. Bailey.
