Social
The social given in aid of the Anglican Sunday School proved a most successful affair both socially and financially, there being a large attendance, the receipts totalling £6. Various games were set out on'small tables, and judging by the animated looks or the players, were much enjoyed- Refreshments of a cilice description were handed round. The following programme was gone through : Overture, Miss N. Merry lees and Messrs .Nicholson; short address, Bev 1). O. Hampton; piano selections, Miss Mitten; song, “The Gauntlet,” Mr Slade; vocal duet, Mrs Seymour and,Miss Merrvlees; song, “lhe Deathless Army,” Mr Fawcett; piano selections, Mi s F. Jolley ; song,“ I’ll be with you when the roses bloom again,” Miss Merryless; song, “The Holv City,” Mrs McKenzie; song, s ‘ The Village Blacksmith,” Mr Slade; piano selections, Mr J. Bailey ; song, comic, “ To-morrow, Mr Henderson ; song, Scotch, Mr Falconer ; recitation, “To my sister,” Mr Foley; song, “Cherryripe,” Mrs Seymour. The accompaniments were ably played by Miss F. Jolley and Miss Merrylees. Mr/ Smart arranged the proBefore the close of the evening Rev Mr Hampton thanked those ladies and gentlemen who had assisted to make the affair such a success aud intimated that it was intended to hold similar socials on the second Wednesday of every m 2S* K . —=====
