“ Necessity,” remarked the man with the chronic quotation habit, “ is the mother of invention. “ There’s where you’ve got a flat tyre,” said the contrary person. “ Invention is the parent of necessity.” “ How do you figure that out ? ” “ Well, take the pneumatic tyre for example. There was no necessity for it until after it was invented.”
