Bethmann Holhveg, in the Reichstag, said that regarding the Right Hon. Lloyd George’s speech, the German Ambassador in London had been instructed to declare that Germany was then engaged in negotiations with France which were not directly’’touching on British interest, but if Britain desired to participate Germany, expected that she would intimate her. wishes through the usual diplomatic-channel. ' After defending the colonial acquisitions, Hert Hollweg emphasised that the source of danger to the relations with France and Britain had been removed.
