THE WOOL-BUYING TROUBLE.
“CASH ON DELIVERY.” Trouble Threatened. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 9. The Auckland Wool Brokers’ Association are opposed to the attitude adopted by the New Zealand Association in refusing to compromise with oversea buyers on the “cash on delivery” dispute, and are determined not to allow the local sale on the 22nd inst. to be prejudiced by the absence of oversea buyers. Previously the bnyers agreed to the enforcement, conditionally on the brokers paying the in. terest between the time of delivery and prompt payment date—a matter of six or seven days The brokers are prepared to allorii interest for five days only; the Auckland association have ulwavs been prepared to allow full interest. They have written to the president of the New Zealand association, asking him to make known the visiting buyers’ action, and threatening secession unless there is an adjustment.
