PEKIN, November 8. A Manchu plot to murder members of the. Assembly has been discovered. Two hundred carls transported the' Palace treasure from Jehol to a secret place. Conferences with the Mongol Princes foreshadow the Court’s joining the Mongols and seeking Russian protection. The Resent, in order to prevent the ■ troops arriving, proposed to cut the railway southward at Sceugtai, but desisted on Sir J. Jordan (British Ambassador) declaring that Britain was entitled to operate the railway under an old agreement. Righting is going on at Nankin. The Manchus are strongly entrenched m positions commanding tho city.
