Dawson to-day received a cable from Dr. Berry, ,of Waterville, Maine, stating that the official recount showed a majority of 758 against the repeal of the prohibitory amendment in the State Constitution. THE ISSUE. WELLINGTON, November 8. American papers show that the voting in Maine was on the .following issue.: “Shall the Constitution! be amended so as to abrogate and annul the 26th amendment, adopted on the Bth September. 1884, relating to the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors?”
