SPECIAL PRIZE WINNERS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November a. At the New Zealand competitions the Victoria College team won the impromptu rebate, and Miss Simpson uc flute solo, the judge-giving her high praise. The choral contest began with three local choirs. Tlie winners are announced of the special prizes, which, including an 80guinea piano, amounted ta over JJ2SO. The champion medals for singing wore won by Miss Knight and Mr Farrow, of Auckland; for elocution by Bliss Prichard, of Melbourne, and Blr Osbomc (Dunedin). Bliss Prichard also carried off four other . special prizes. Miss- Paoey, of Dunedin, secured the prizes for the best pronounciation and enunciation, both in music and elocution. She tied with Blr Blandford. of Wellington, for the most versatile performer. and with Bliss Knight for the highest marks in solo singing, and took the prize for self-accompanied song. Bliss Grant, of Christchurch, secured the prize for the highest marks in singing for vocalists who have not received a fee. Bliss Brewing (Christchurch) got a camera for the most promising elocutionist under IG, and Mr Casey (Ohakune) a cup for the best debater. Nearly all the special prizes went to performers from outside Wellington.
