THE WELLINGTON DOCK CASE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 8. The Chief Justice gave: judgment for defendants with costs to-day in the claim regarding the supply of gravel for. the Wellington Dock, Pitcaithly ' and ; Company vV John McLean and Son. The claim was for' £20,000. ■ A stay of-cxeGU-tion was, granted as plaintiffs intended appealing, FAILING TO STAMP RECEIPT FORMS. DUNEDIN. November 8. At the Police Court this morning a number of firm's -and, private people supplying the. Hospital - and 'Charitable Aid Board with groceries, etc., for,, various homes were : charged with failing to duly stamp receipt forms for £'2 and upwards. In one case—that of the was shown to the Magistrate’s satisfaction that the stamp had come off. The; other cases wore caused by cither inadvertence or defendants ■ being deceived by the Board’s special voucher forms, which defendants apparently thought needed'no stamp. Dr.. Falconer’s case concerned the out-of-pocket travelling . expenses, which he thought a mere boolt-kecpir.g entry, and did not come within thc' : Act. Tim w-we not seriously'penalised, the fines inflicted ranging from 5« tO -0. . . ■
