THE HAWERA SHOW. A busy staff of workers are now adding the final touches to the Show ground appointments at the Egmont A. and P. Society’s so as to have everything in readiness-for the opening of the Show uu Wednesday next. V ' The list of entries, as compiled hereunder, though not quite up to last year, is entirely satisfactory., For Show stock we have experienced ;one of the worst seasms. for some time. Rough -weather anti shortage of grass have been disastrous for getting stock into condition, and right uo.vn the coast breeders have met with the sumo experience.!, The A. and P. .AssooiarionV; were' imfoftpnilte ' in . that; . haiVing blade their dates a fortnight earlier, they have stfiick an exceptionally late season. ■. The list of entries' promises to provide one of the most, attractive exhibitions yet held finder the Society’s auspices, as qualify is. a predominant feature. There will be splendid competition in some of the,chief cattle (notably Jerseys and Ayrahircs) .and horse sections. Other events are well patronised and a highly .spectacular display most be the outcome. For home-made plain scones there are 29 entries, nlain family cake 23, bread 17, sponge sandwich 20. pikelets 16, seed cako 17, jam roll 16, Mndiera cake 14. In fancy work there arc 17 entries for taole centre, 14 for embroidery in silk. 13 for handsomest cushion, 12 for stencil work. , The entries throughout tho section are decidedly good and it will be Undoubtedly hue display, as the big building now oiiaoles the exhibits -to be shown so effectivei le . P r °duce shed some interesting exhibits will also be staged, those by the Government in the veterinary and honey exhibits being especially good.
