The keen rivalry and competition, existing between the large picture-producing firms of the world keeps them ever on the alert for up-to-date and interesting subjects. The Kalem Company of America think nothing of shipping their entire stock company of actors many miles in order to secure, suitable scenic effects for their popular dramas, have just produced ii, striking film entitled “The Mexican Joan of Arc.” It deals with an incident which received great prominence during the recent insurrection in Mexico, whereby an innocent citizen was shot as being a suspected ally of the insurgents. The, Vita-' graph comedies, always excellent; are rmin in evidence with “The Woes of a Wealthy Widow 7,” which is replete with amusing situations. “That Daredevil,” "Sbtan on Mischief Bent,” and “Tontoliui Follows Good Advice,” are each worth recommending: as laughter-provokers. O'Hara’s Symphony Orchestra will provide the musical portion of, the programme. ,
