At the Police Court, a married woman named Mrs Lang wag charged with having performed an illegal operation on a young woman, who is in the hospital, but in the doctor’s opinion she is not in danger of her life. Die accused was remanded on bail in two sureties of £l5O each. ARSON AND THEFT. WELLINGTON, November 1. Henry Edward Whiteman and Leonard Edwards pleaded nudity in the Court to wilfully setting fire to a wharc at Wallaccville, and breaking, entering, and stealing goods valued at £ll 8s Cd, and ■were committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Bail was allowed. The police gave the men good characters.
