WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL SHOW
General entries close to-night at 9 o’clock. Jill day yesterday the secretary’s office was thronged with exhibitors, and every mail brought its big budget of letters. The secretary reports that present indications point to record entries this year. For the convenience of those attending the Palmerston Show, the committee has an office in the show ground .'n charge of Mr Win. Quirke, and the chief stewards in the various classes havo arranged to attend the show and canvas for entries. It will be interesting to see which of the chief stewards is the most successful canvasser. On account of several of the exhibitors of purebred ca'ttlo offering their stock at the purebred stock sale during Palmerston Show week the committee has decided to take late entries at Palmerston, so that anyone who is exhibitin'- at Palmerston can make Ids entries at the Wanganui show office on ,tho ground. Local draught horse breeders are reminded of a meeting convened by Mr W. P. Archibald, which will bo held in the Manawatu A. and P. Association’s committee rooms at 8 o’clock on Thursday night, to utter a protest, from North Island breeders, against the proposed Clydesdale Stud-book, as it is hold that the Draught Stud-Book meets the needs of breeders.
The usual weekly meeting of the committee will be held at 2.30 this afternoon.
