CHARLESTON DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The annual meeting of subscribers was held at the Melbourne Hotel, Charleston, on Thursday last, Dr Giles in the chair. Tho Treasurer's report showed a balance of £2O to the credit of the institution. The Committee reported that the average number of patients for tho year was nearly equal to the average for the preceding three years, although there had been a considerable decrease in population in the district. The precise numbcis for the year being as fol'ows : —No. of patients remaining on 3lst March, 1573, 4; admitted during the year ending 31st March, 1874, 50; total, 54 No. of patients discharged, 50; died, 1; remaining in the hos ntr.l, 8 ; total, 5 k The Committee furtaer reported that tie annual subscriptions had fallen off, and that some extra effort on the part of the subscribers would be necessary during the coining year, if they wished to kce > tho institution open. A new Committee was elected, as follows:—Messrs H. Jones, T. G. M'Carthy, Grant, A. C. Thompson, Crumpton, 11. Gilmer, Pcrrett, Sutton, P. McCarthy, Bernard Bogers, Itoulston, and Mathcson.

Tenders wore then opened for supplies to the hospital during the ensuing six months, the accepted tenders being as follows :—Groceries, Messrs Gardner and Sutton ; meat, Shepherd and Warne; bread, P. Ml'arland; milk, John Warne; fuel, T. Powell; burials, IX. Treadvvoll.
